SUNIL KUMAR SUNIL KUMAR      |     Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Sunil Kumar founded ASSYST in 1993 and currently serves as CEO of the organization. He oversees all key components of company growth including strategic planning, business development, and budgeting. Mr. Kumar is responsible for evaluating and selecting board members, supporting their operations and administration, and serving as a liaison between the board and employees. He led the transition of ASSYST into an Employee Owned organization, instilling an ownership mentality for all employees. With over three decades in the IT field, Mr. Kumar began his technical career as a Software Engineer, and later as a Software Architect, Project Manager, and a Program Manager leading enterprise-wide initiatives for renowned companies such as IBM, Nortel Networks, and the International Monetary Fund. He holds an MBA in Marketing and undergraduate degrees in Physics, Mathematics, and Statistics from Bombay University.

SHYAMA P. MANDAL SHYAMA P. MANDAL      |     President

ASSYST President, Mr. Shyama P. Mandal, joined the company in 1994. He, along with the Executive Team, develops and executes the high-level strategies and the overall vision of the organization. Mr. Mandal provides oversight in the areas of project / process management, quality and information assurance, cost estimations and enterprise resource planning (ERP) for the company. He is also charged with executing the strategies and vision of ASSYST. Mr. Mandal has refined his technical expertise working at respected companies such as IBM and the World Bank, and has held key positions in implementing large-scale IT systems using leading-edge technologies. His accomplishments include re-engineering, designing, developing and deploying various MIS systems and financial transaction systems with international organizations. Mr. Mandal has been in the IT field for over thirty years and holds an MS in Computer Engineering and a BS in Electronics & Electrical Communication Engineering, both from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

JOSEPH A. ANDERSON JOSEPH A. ANDERSON      |     Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Joseph Anderson joined ASSYST in 1997 and serves as the COO. He oversees all aspects of ASSYST’s operations including operations, sales, and marketing services. As COO, Mr. Anderson advises the President and CEO on strategic business initiatives, long term goals, key corporate planning, business activities, potential threats or opportunities, and recommended actions. Experienced in this industry for more than three decades, Mr. Anderson refined his skills working as the Deputy Director of Operations for RDI International, an organization primarily involved in providing consultation services to the World Bank, USAID, Food Agriculture Organization (FAO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and several U.S. Universities. He has also served as a production coordinator, production engineer, and operations manager for HDS, Inc. Mr. Anderson holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from MTSU, and an MBA from Virginia Tech.

VINAY V. SHIRKE VINAY V. SHIRKE      |     Chief Information Officer

ASSYST CIO, Mr. Vinay Shirke, joined the organization in 1996. Mr. Shirke manages the company’s long-term technological vision, and ensures that ASSYST clients can leverage the process and technological edge that the company continuously strives to achieve. He is responsible for establishing and directing ASSYST’s internal systems capabilities to accomplish the corporations’ business needs. Mr. Shirke began his career as a software engineer with a division of Sony, designing and developing custom Financial Accounting and Materials Management Systems. He later joined one of the leading pharmaceutical companies as a software architect in their ERP team, and helped build a custom ERP system consisting of Financial Accounting, Production Planning, Material Management and Manufacturing. Mr. Shirke has been an instrumental asset in defining and re-engineering business processes within the organization as well as for our clients. Mr. Shirke holds a BS in Chemistry from Bombay University.
